THE SAGA OF THE TIFFIN CARRIERS

The Dabbawalas:

These are the individuals who operate the tiffin delivery system. 

They are known for their distinctive white Gandhi caps (topes) and their dedication to delivering lunches with precision.

The System:

The dabbawalas collect packed lunches (tiffin boxes) from homes and restaurants, sort them based on a unique coding system, and deliver them to workplaces. 

They then collect the empty tiffin boxes and return them to their original locations.

Efficiency and Reliability:

Despite using minimal technology, the dabbawala system is renowned for its high efficiency and reliability. 

Their error rate is incredibly low, a feat that has been studied by management experts. 

Mumbai's Lifeline:

The dabbawalas are an integral part of Mumbai's daily life, playing a crucial role in ensuring that workers can enjoy home-cooked meals during their lunch break.
